Best Desk and Vanity Organization

Over the summer, I got the new addition of a vintage vanity to my room. It took a lot of work to re-organize everything but I finally got it functioning as both a desk and a vanity! My mornings are a lot easier now that I have somewhere to sit to do my hair and makeup, and I get my homework done comfortably with all supplies available to me! I bring to you some tips to organizing your desk or vanity to make staying organized and getting ready easier!

1) Separate drawers intended for makeup into categories to make finding products easier- I have a drawer dedicated to all my brushes, another for all my face products, another for all palettes, and one for all lip products and single eye products such as eyeliner, mascara and single shadow pots.

2) Keep writing utensils on the surface of the desk- I have my pens, pencils and highlighters in metal cups on the top of my desk so that they are right in front of me and in reach while I do homework.

3) Have a drawer dedicated to extra office supplies- keep any supplies that you don't reach for often tucked away in a specific drawer. I have extra packs of pens, pencils and notepads in this drawer along with my planner supplies. These items are still at reach, but are tucked away keeping the desk surface de-cluttered so that there is room to do makeup or homework!

4) Make room for a light and mirror on the surface of the vanity- a light and mirror will help you immensely when you want to sit down and do a quick face of makeup, and the light also helps when doing homework at night!

5) Keep a jewelry organizer on the surface of the desk- I have an earring organizer and a box for bracelets right on the top of my desk so I can easily grab my jewelry and go when I am in a hurry but still want to look put together!

This is what my finished desk and vanity setup is! I keep my planner on the surface so that I can jot down things throughout the day to stay organized and remember important events and assignments.

Make sure to check back in next week for a post all about how I plan with my Happy Planner!
